Bárbara is a Chilean architect with a master in architecture from the Architectural Association (MArch Emergent Technologies and Design).

Barbara's main architectural research interest is the design of complex geometries using unconventional materials and processes. Her work has been exhibited at several venues such as the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale main exhibition, MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. On the other hand, she was a finalist at "YAP Constructo" 8 and 9 (from MoMA's Young Architects Program) and at "YALA - Young Architects in Latin America".

In 2016, Bárbara co-founded BASE studio, an architectural systems design research platform. She has been co-director at Ciudad Emergente and has collaborated with diverse architecture practices in Santiago and London, working on projects for Latin America, the USA, Europe, and Asia. Besides, she has been a professor at UAI Design Lab, UDP, UDD, and UNAB Universities in Chile, and at Rice University in Houston, USA.

Currently, she works as an independent architect and teaches architectural design at
UDD´s´s MArch program and Catholic University (PUC). Also, she is co-director of the Architectural Association's "Ring of Fire" Visiting School.
